What is your wellness policy and prevention for Covid-19?
Thank you for your interest in learning more about our Wellness Policy and Covid-19 precautions.
Our Wellness Policy:
When students and staff are sick, we encourage them to stay home. It is important to stay home at least 24 hours after fever (chills; sweating or flushed appearances) has disappeared without using a fever-reducing medicine. A student needs for his/her fever to be below 100 degrees without medicine for a minimum of 24 hours. Twenty-four hours is also the minimum amount of time since vomiting or diarrhea. When in doubt, call your primary care physician for permission to return to classes.
Covid-19 Precautions
We plan to follow all applicable guidelines recommended from the CDC.
1) Students are not required to wear a mask while in the building. If you choose to send your child with a mask, we will partner with you to remind your child to keep their mask on during their time at TCA.
2) Temperature checks will take place upon arrival to check for fevers. If your child has a fever, they will be asked to stay home until they have 24 hours without a fever.
3) Students are asked to wash their hands or use hand sanitizer prior to snack time.
4) Parents will be notified directly if their child has been in close contact with a positive covid case. Close contact is defined as being within 3 feet (when all parties are masked) or 6 feet (when all parties are not masked) of a positive case for a cumulative total of 15 minutes or more in a 24-hour period.
5) Students exhibiting covid symptoms or testing positive for covid will be asked to seek your physician’s recommendation on when it is safe for your child to return back to class.
In addition to the CDC recommended safety guidelines, our routine cleaning and hygiene plan include the following:
Small class sizes: Ratio of 1:6
Minimized use of shared supplies: Each class has their own supplies that are not shared with other classes. Additionally, each student has their own set of supplies that are not shared with other students in their class.
Frequent sanitization where there are shared resources: Tables, chairs, etc. are sanitized between each class before use.
Frequent hand washing: All staff are required to follow hand washing protocols before and after diaper changes, when handling food, and all other situations when hand washing is deemed necessary
Thermometer checks: All students’ temperatures are checked with a no-touch thermometer before entering into class
